Wonderful discovery on our study centre building site where the foundations for the dining area are going – its an indigenous burial urn. People were buried twice as their body would be dug up and their bones placed in an urn to be re-buried. The size of this urn indicates it was probably a pretty important person, also indicated by the image of a face on one side. Sadly it got broken by Daniel using his pick axe too enthusiastically. But everyone is digging more gently now in case of further exciting finds!
